The core work of the federated DisCOs is done in 'pods' - grouping of coproduction with partner ventures, in action learning, action research, study circles. Digital infrastructure is implicated in this. Here we consider the schools' core work of podding, and wiki, chat, mutual awareness within the collective of partner-activists, and conferencing, as elements in tech infrastructure.
We explore the working relationship to be cultivated between the school of participatory design and vernacular tools (which stewards literacy in 'organic intellectual' practice) and the school of digital means, which looks after the patterns relating to digital infrastructure in the pattern commons, and stewards the provision of appropriate digital infrastructure in the college and in its living-economy and dual-power collaborations.
